The Parts of a Leaf

In the above photo, Darren describes various parts of a leaf, including apex, margin, vein, midrib, petiole, and stipule. Starting from the bottom, the axial bud stipule is the stem part of the leaf (as shown in the image below). The petiole is the middle part of the stem, which attached to the leaf. The bottom of the leaf is referred to as the base. The vein transfers nutrients that the leaf needs to survive. Is the edge of the leaf is called the margin and, last but not least, the very top of the leaf is called the apex.
