Last Thursday, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy Leadership Team attended the Youth Jobs Rally at Copley. We marched from Copley all the way to the State House. On our way to the State House we chanted and declared that we would not settle for less. One of the chants went: “Youth united will never be defeated.” When we arrived at the State House, we split into groups. While some rallyers sat in on a presentation, others toured the State House and talked to representatives and legislatures. Meanwhile, we listened to Governor Deval Patrick give a speech in which he urged the rallying youth to never give up on our pursuit of jobs, and with it the chance for a brighter future. When we left at the end of the day, we felt as though we accomplished something, and felt as if we could do anything at all.
