A couple weeks ago, YOP participated in a scavenger hunt with Kim, an intern here at the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. Everyone spilt up into groups of two and attempted to find all the necessary things.
We had to find seeds, leaves, animals, branches, and landmarks throughout the Back Bay Fence. This scavenger hunt tested our knowledge of the Back Bay Fence since we had to find a swing, statue, etc.
After everyone finished their scavenger hunt, we grouped back together and discussed about what we found. For example, we found a plant that had thorns surrounding it which is a way the plant defends itself against birds and humans. The scavenger hunt was fun and a great way to end the week.
